Recently I had a problem deleting certain files of a folder – there where just too many to get ls or rm to work!
find "folder name" -type f -ctime +14 -print0|xargs -0 rm
did the job and just kept the files of the last 2 weeks in it

Türkisches Ministerium sperrt Google Dienste

Das Türkische Ministerium für Telekommunikationsverbindungen (Telekomünikasyon İletişim Başkanlığı, TİB) blockiert seit Anfang Juni 2010 verschiedene Google Dienste (siehe Liste unten). Der eigentliche Grund sind verschiedene Youtube-Videos, die per Gerichtsurteil verboten wurden. Die Meinungsfreiheit ist in der Türkei ein eher ungenauer und rechtlich nicht genügend definierter Begriff und wird staatlicherseits gerne schnell zensiert und bestraft.
Einige der Google-Dienste benutzen die gleichen IP-Nummern wie Youtube. Zur Zeit ist es auch mit eigenen DNS-Servern nicht möglich, diese Dienste zu erreichen. Von zwei Seiten wurden Einsprüche gegen diese Entscheide eingereicht (siehe türkischen Artikel bei NTVMSNBC). Begründet wird die Beschwerde mit Verdienstausfall, da Dienste wie google-analystics nicht erreichbar seien.

Bu arada tuhaf bir routing meselesi ile karşılaşıyorum - Türk Telekom işi bilmiyor mu acaba? Türkçe vikipedi açmak çalışıyorum da sayfa çıkmıyor – hata veriyor… traceroute ile veri yolunu kontrol edip routerleri birbirine yönlendiriyorlar:

Salak bunlar! Bugün bir daha… bazı siteler çıkmayınca bakıp bu hata ile karşılaştım:
Analysis: The routing loop (212.156.118.213 / null / 81.212.25.153 / null / null / null) starting in hops 18 – 23 is not allowing IP packets to get to their destination.

I’m so fed up with hosting company hosthi I can’t tell! I’ve only four five sites with them – but once a week I have to contact them to tell that they should set correct permission for this and that! The only good thing they have is their help line chat system.
Some of the people from technical support there don’t seem to be able to write correct english (and it’s an American company!)… for example:

- At the we are working on server so kindly set for some time it will be fine
Usually it’s always the same kind of issue – someone or some script sets wrong permission for site root or database file, so either you get a 403 error when opening your site or an error when trying to access your pages which query a mysql database… For 2 years now nothing changed – it even got worse: their quality of service is far too low – so Beware! They just get you with their low price!

I had to contact them again today! There’s a gallery2 system on the site which may produce too much load on the server as they say! I do not know if it’s really the gallery2 or some spiders which harvest pictures… what they do is: automatically set permission of gallery/main.php to 000! or set permission of databasefile to NOREAD! That’s their quality of service!
I checked my log files and finally found out, that some east-asian bots were harvesting the site for images: baidu and sogou. So I had to edited the .htaccess file to effectively restrict them to enter my site…
Addendum:
Another website got infected by a Gumblar virus like javascript injection. They just closed http and ftp! I could not even clean the files myself! And again they aren’t aware of that:

- I CANNOT do it myself because Hosthi has removed permisson on /public_html! No ftp no nothing!
And the restoration of a simple backup can take days, DAYS!…
From there homepage: Choose HostHi and you will never regret it, your web site could not be in safer hands.
It’s the exact opposite! I cannot recommend Hosthi at all!
I want “localizeable wordpress themes” !

It’s nice to see people create wordpress themes, but: I’d love to see those people make their themes localizeable!! O they are happy: I made a theme – but it is only in english – they did not read the manual for writing themes thorougly! That is, they did NOT make use of the gettext functions __( and _e(. If people would use localizeable themes they would have automatically reach a lot more people on the globe, and a lot more traffic and fame to their site…
Even at the WP themes site they don’t have no sort option for “internationalized theme“! I would like to see themes which already use the gettext functions __( and _e( ! Even if the theme would not have language file or a theme.pot file I could easily parse the files myself with for example poedit to create a .pot file which I then could start to translate into my own language.
